ALPSEK H may be used to provide continuous on-line monitoring of melt hydrogen levels. The example to the left shows data collected from the holding furnace of a continuous casting plant. Aluminium in the holding furnace is permanently degassed by an FDU, but at regular intervals, hydrogen rich aluminium from a melting furnace is added. Consequently, there is a periodic increase in the hydrogen level of the holding furnace. ALSPEK H monitors the process continuously, tracking the hydrogen level in real time.
